Restylane® is an injectable dermal filler that can restore youthful contours to the skin. The effects include smoothing wrinkles and folds of the face (such as frown lines), reducing surface damage, or scarring, to the skin, as well as restoring the fullness of the lips. Restylane® is composed of a Non-Animal, Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid (NASHA) in a clear gel form. Hyaluronic Acid is natural, non-allergenic, and degradable. Because this form of Hyaluronic Acid is completely free of animal proteins, the possibility of an allergic reaction to Restylane® is significantly reduced.
After numbing, Restylane® can be injected beneath the skin during an office visit with our facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Waldman. Results can be seen in a matter of days, and can last approximately 9-12 months. However, some treatments may last longer depending on individual factors. Treatment can be repeated as often as desired.
